Going to the Tay Ninh, many people will immediately think of the majestic Ba Den Mountain, or Holy Cao Dai sacred temple... Besides, there are also famous specialties such as delicious wet rice paper and Shrimp salt.

A land full of sunlight and wind, no relation to seafood or sea can produce a delicious and famous spice, which has become their own specialties such as Tay Ninh special shrimp salt.

Turning back in time to the origin of this spice is like finding a miracle. No one knows exactly when shrimp salt was created, can assume that it was very long time ago, even attached to three resistance of Tay Ninh. Due to the difficult life at war, ordinary people can only eat rice with salt. Later, they created pepper salt, lemongrass salt, then chili salt and shrimp salt. At first shrimp salt was only homemade, then some households produce more to sell to neighbors in the village. Then it was unexpectedly favored and expanding to the market in other areas. Especially, tourists visiting Ba Den Mountain, Cao Dai Temple, began to know and love this new spice. Gradually, tourists have found and bought a jar of shrimp salt or pack of rice paper as a certain souvenir. Shrimp salt has become a famous specialty of Tay Ninh.
